23-year-old woman who spat on man taken into custody after shooting during an argument Wednesday morning on CTA Red Line – Chicago Tribune

A 23-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday morning after she spat on and then wounded a man she was arguing with on the CTA Red Line, Chicago police said.

According to police, a 33-year-old man was a passenger on the CTA Red Line in the 1000 block of West Argyle Street about 8:40 p.m., when the woman approached  him and spat at the victim and an argument ensued. The woman pulled out a firearm during the argument and shot the victim to the left shoulder, police said.

The victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston where he was listed in fair condition, police said.

The woman was taken into custody, and a weapon was recovered at the scene, police said.

Detectives were investigating.
