Ken Page, Broadway star and voice of Oogie Boogie, dies at 70

Well-known Broadway actor Ken Page, who also voiced the Oogie Boogie character in “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” has died at the age of 70, according to multiple reports.

News of Page’s death was reported on BroadwayWorld.com and IMDB after being initially shared by friends on social media. 

“Ken Page has passed onto the next show. My heart is broken,” longtime friend and producer Dorian Hannaway posted on Facebook.

Page portrayed Old Deuteronomy in the original production of Cats.

He was also known for his role as The Lion in the original production of The Whiz and as Nicely-Nicely Johnson in the first Broadway revival of Guys and Dolls.

Page was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri.
