New evacuation orders have been issued for the community of Seven Oaks in the San Bernardino Mountains, which is under threat from the more than 40,000-acre Line Fire burning since the beginning of this month.
As of 4:30 p.m., officials with the San Bernardino County Fire said in a post on X, formerly Twitter, that it had reentered “Unified Command due to the threat to the community.”
Officials added that “structure defense assets” were staged in the area with “additional assets enroute.”
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department issued the mandatory evacuation orders for Seven Oaks, saying emergency personnel were actively working in the area and urging residents to “be cautious and obey all traffic laws.”
Angelus Oaks, a community approximately 10 miles from Seven Oaks, is under an evacuation warning, according to the sheriff’s department.
“Those who require additional time to evacuate, and those with pets and livestock should leave now,” officials said in a social media post.
The Line Fire is believed to have been intentionally started by 34-year-old Justin Wayne Halstenberg of Norco on Sept. 5 near Base Line and Alpin streets in Highland. He has since been arrested and charged with multiple felony counts.
As of Cal Fire’s latest update at 3:40 p.m. Sunday, the fire spanned 40,219 acres and is 83% contained.
