Chicago man arrested for trafficking 16-year-old victim

CHICAGO – A Chicago man is facing multiple felony charges after he allegedly trafficked a 16-year-old victim who had been reported missing downstate.

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office said on Wednesday, the FBI contacted them after images of the victim, who was reported missing out of Woodford County, were found on the websites “Megapersonals” and “Skipthegames.”

An investigator posing as a sex buyer arranged a meeting with the victim on Friday afternoon at a motel in Cicero. When the victim arrived at the motel, detectives moved in and got them to safety while taking 30-year-old Tervon Moore into custody, according to investigators.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

The sheriff’s office said investigators later learned that Moore had the victim engage in sex acts, posted ads on the websites named above, arranged dates with Johns, and collected the payments, taking half of the proceeds for himself.

On Saturday, Moore was charged with involuntary servitude of a minor, trafficking for labor/benefits and trafficking for labor/recruits.

Moore appeared in court Sunday and was ordered detained at the Cook County Jail pending trial.
