An off-duty NYC deputy sheriff was arrested Saturday morning in Manhattan on weapons and menacing charges.

Police said Mackenson Vil was arrested at 3:22 a.m. by cops from the 34th Precinct, that covers parts of  Washington Heights and Inwood,

Vil, 38, also served as a special officer for some time, dating back to 2021.

Cops said that Vil was charged with menacing and criminal possession of a weapon, but gave no further details.

His arrest came at the tail-end of a tumultuous few days for the Sheriff’s Department. The Queens County office was raided Thursday amid a probe into the department’s handling of cash seized from pot shops, the Daily News reported at the time.

Sources told the Daily News that Vil’s arrest was not related to the investigation.
