It’s almost Halloween, and therefore, it’s almost black cat season.
MSPCA-Angell also knows it. The organization will be waiving adoption fees for about 40 black cats to make space for animals displaced by Hurricane Helene, according to their website.
The event, called “Purranormal Cativity,” will take place from Oct. 1 – 4. Older cats and cats with specific medical or behavioral needs will also have adoption fees waived.
Not in Boston? Not to worry. This event takes place at all four MSPCA-Angell adoption centers in Boston, Cape Cod, Nevins Farm in Methuen, and Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem.
“We know that a lot of shelters in areas we regularly work with, like Florida and South Carolina, will be impacted, and we want to be [able] to help,” said Mike Keiley, MSPCA-Angell Vice President of Animal Protection, according to WBZ. “In order to do that, we need to find homes now for some of the cats that tend to stay in our shelters longer.”
Visit the organization’s website to see the cats that are up for adoption. The cats whose fees are waived are marked with a star.
