‘Wordle’ #1,197 Hints, Clues and Answer for Saturday, September 28 Game

US

It’s finally the weekend and if that means your brain is working slower than usual, Newsweek is here to help you solve today’s Wordle puzzle.

The word-based game was created by software developer Josh Wardle and was released to the public in October 2021. The following year, it was sold to The New York Times for an undisclosed seven-figure sum.

If you’ve never played the game before, players get six chances to guess the five-letter word and feedback is given through a color-coded system. This allows players to work out the word through a process of elimination.

A green tile means the letter is correct, while yellow tells a player that the letter appears in the word but is just in the wrong spot. A gray tile indicates that the letter is not in the word at all.

Today, Wordle boasts a large global following and is beloved by celebrities including Ben Affleck, Meghan Markle, Bradley Cooper, Carol Burnett, Allison Janney and more.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight in April 2023, Burnett revealed she and Janney “Wordle.”

“We just Wordle back and forth,” the Carol Burnett Show star said. “She’s the first one every morning at my coffee.”

When it comes to their word game skills, Burnett added it’s a fairly even playing field. “We’re kind of alike,” she shared.

The answer to Saturday’s Wordle will be revealed at the bottom of the page, so if you’d like to work out the puzzle for yourself, please be wary while scrolling.
