Car submerged in Robbins pond leads to grim discovery

ROBBINS, Ill. — Police in south suburban Robbins, responding to the scene of a car submerged in a pond, found the body of a man inside. 

Coroners identified the man as 25-year-old Romero Rogers, who had been reported missing by family members.

SkyCam9 flew above the scene on Friday, Sept. 27 at 134th and Kedzie, where police say they believe the car has been in the water for several weeks.  

Robbins police added that the department is following up on a tip of the vehicle’s alleged involvement in a homicide that happened in Robbins on Sept. 7.  

Police offered no additional details.
