Several people hospitalized in Roseland crash, driver cited for failure to yield

Multiple people were hospitalized in a crash Thursday afternoon in Roseland on the South Side.

A Ford van was traveling north in the 9800 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue when the driver struck a Chevy Impala that was attempting to make a left turn around 4 p.m., Chicago police said.

The driver of the Ford, a male whose age wasn’t known, then struck a nearby pole, police said. He was cited for failure to yield.

Multiple people were injured and taken to nearby hospitals, police said. Their conditions were not known.

The Chicago Fire Department could not be reached for information.
