Internet Obsessed With Cat and Dog Siblings Who Were ‘Meant To Be Together’

A video of a kitten and puppy causing mayhem has racked up over 6 million views in just two days on TikTok.

“They are both picking up on each other’s behavior! It’s funny watching them grow together,” said the owner in the comments of the clip, which has 1.4 million likes.

Indeed, it looks like the gray kitten has matched the puppy’s energy as the footage shows them literally running circles around each other, followed by scenes of them playing with toilet rolls, trying to break into a room, and play fighting.

The text at the start of the video indicates that someone was against the owner getting the unlikely duo. It reads: “Do you really want a cat and a dog?” But it seems she has no regrets, as she encourages other people to get both, telling TikTok users to consider the video as a “sign.”

While the owner admits the animals keep her on her toes 24/7, she wouldn’t have it any other way. She told one user: “They were meant to be together,” adding that they are “crazy” but “they still cuddle and show affection.”

Though cats and dogs have historically been regarded as enemies, there are certain breed groups that are more likely to get along with felines than others. According to the American Kennel Club, the Toy Group “consists of breeds that are affectionate and sociable,” meaning they generally get along well with cats. On the other hand, terriers are born to hunt, so “a fast-moving cat could trigger those feisty, predatory instincts.”

The dog named Teodoro is a cross between a Maltese terrier and a poodle, which means, statistically, he shouldn’t adore his feline pal as much as he does.

“OMGG JUST LIKE SIBLINGS,” said one comment with 57,300 likes.

“I applaud anyone who can raise two baby animals. It just sounds like chaos to me, but the cuteness,” said another user, to which the owner replied: “It is chaotic, but at the end of the day when we cuddle to sleep, it’s the best.”

While this dynamic duo seem to be a match made in heaven, this isn’t always the case for cats and dogs. Newsweek recently spoke to dog trainer Adam Flack to find out how owners can help their pets get along.

Flack of Adam Flack Dog Training, based in Hertfordshire, England, provided the following tips:

  1. Understand you have two different species that you are trying to get to cohabit.
  2. Manage your environment and set them up for success.
  3. Use play to teach commands like “leave it” or “enough.”

Newsweek reached out to @tiny.teodoro for comment. We could not verify the details of the case.
