The Dallas Cowboys might have found themselves in a tough situation with star defensive end Micah Parsons. Parsons was made active on Thursday Night Football, but he was shaken up a couple of times during the game.

Initially, Parsons appeared to have suffered a concussion on a play after his helmet struck the turf hard. After being evaluated in the blue medical tent, he returned to the game.

The most intense injury incident occurred deep into the fourth quarter, as Parsons was going for a tackle and was wrapped up by New York Giants center John Michael Schmitz Jr.

Giants guard Greg Van Roten then fell on Parsons’ leg, resulting in his needing assistance to get off the field.

Parsons was in the blue medical tent and was then taken by cart to the locker room for additional testing. Parsons spoke to reporters after the game, revealing he is unsure what the damage is on his ankle.

“Right now, I just iced it,” Parsons said, sitting at his locker with his left ankle taped. “I know very little. I’ve got an MRI [Friday], and I’m going to try to get back next week.”

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy is sure to update everyone on the extent of the injury on Friday, but Parson’s words do sound a bit ominous.

Parsons did not pop up on the injury report in Week 4, so there is no telling if his ankle was already injured going into the game. However, he might be out for some time.

The Cowboys were banged up on Thursday Night Football, as DeMarcus Lawrence, Parsons, and Trevon Diggs were injured. Lawrence suffered a foot injury in the third quarter but assured reporters that the injury was not related to the surgeries he received.

Diggs also left the game after going down hard on the turf. However, his exit was determined to be from dehydration. The hope is that he will be ready to go for Week 5.

The Cowboys got a much-needed win against the Giants, and Mike Zimmer’s defense was mostly able to stop Daniel Jones and his strong receiving corps. However, if Parsons, Lawrence, and Diggs all miss Week 5, it will be hard for Zimmer to cobble together players to replace them.

More news will come out about the extent of Parsons, but it sounds like Diggs and Lawrence are far more likely to play when the Cowboys take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Oct. 6.
