Chicago police investigating series of business burglaries on North & Northwest Sides

CHICAGO – Chicago police are issuing a warning to business owners after a series of business burglaries on the city’s North and Northwest Sides, primarily in the Albany Park and Jefferson Park neighborhoods.

Police said the burglaries happened at the following times and locations:

  • 2600 block of North Clark St. on September 22, 2024 at 9:30pm
  • 2900 block of North Clark St. on September 23, 2024 at 12:30am
  • 2600 block of North Clark St. on September 23, 2024 at 2:00am
  • 2500 block of North Clark St. on September 23, 2024 from 2:00-2:50am
  • 2500 block of North Clark St. on September 23, 2024 at 2:50am
  • 3900 block of North Avondale Ave. on September 23, 2024 at 2:45am
  • 3900 block of North Avondale Ave. on September 23, 2024 at 2:46am
  • 5600 block of West Irving Park Rd. on September 23, 2024 at 4:02am
  • 5800 block of West Irving Park Rd. on September 23, 2024 at 4:04am
  • 4800 block of North Austin Ave. on September 23, 2024 at 4:40am
  • 900 block of West Wilson Ave. on September 23, 2024 at 5:07am
  • 4600 block of North Rockwell St. on September 25, 2024 at 2:44am
  • 1500 block of West Montrose Ave. on September 25, 2024 at 2:45am
  • 1900 block of West Montrose Ave. on September 25, 2024 at 3:25am
  • 3000 block of West Montrose Ave. on September 25, 2024 at 4:02am
  • 2900 block of West Irving Park Rd. on September 25, 2024 at 4:02am
  • 2900 block of West Irving Park Rd. on September 25, 2024 at 4:02am
  • 3300 block of North Damen Ave. on September 25, 2024 at 4:20am
  • 3800 block of North Ashland Ave. on September 25, 2024 from 12:00-6:00am

During the burglaries, the suspects broke out a front glass door or window to get inside. Once inside, they targeted cash registers and office areas of the businesses, according to investigators.

Police said three different suspect vehicles are involved. The vehicles are described as a dark sedan, a gray Volkswagen Jetta and a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The burglars are described as two to four males wearing dark clothing, face masks and gloves.
