39-year-old man dies in car accident late Monday night in West Garfield Park – Chicago Tribune

A 39-year-old man was pronounced dead after he lost control of a sedan and struck a tree late Monday night in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.

About 11:05 p.m., the victim was driving a Buick sedan at a high rate of speed in the 4600 block of West Maypole Avenue when he lost control and stuck a tree, police said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Major Accidents Investigation Unit was investigating.
