According to a recent analysis of TripAdvisor data, a state park in California is America’s highest-rated.
Researchers with Niagara Falls Tours & Tickets looked at TripAdvisor to determine the average rating visitors gave to each state park in the country. The platform helps people plan trips by providing reviews and opinions from other travelers.
While conducting their research, the team only factored in state parks with more than 50 online reviews. One particular state park in Northern California came out on top with 90.3% of its reviews being rated as five stars.

Humboldt Redwoods State Park, located about 233 miles north of San Francisco and 25 miles east of the Pacific Ocean, is considered America’s highest-rate, based on this study. Visitors come to admire the giant redwood trees that are scattered over roughly 53,000 acres of land. Also at the park are several campgrounds, as well as trails for hiking and biking.
Another California state park ranked No. 7 on the list. Located a little under 10 miles east of Crescent City, Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park also received praise from travelers with 86.2% of its reviews being rated as five stars. This park is grounds for old-growth redwoods that trickle along the Smith River.
