Woman seriously injured in stabbing Saturday morning on South Side, 1 in custody – Chicago Tribune

A 31-year-old woman was seriously injured when an argument escalated to a stabbing Saturday morning in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the South Side, Chicago police said.

Shortly after 6 a.m.. a 23-year-old woman was arguing with a 31-year-old woman in the 7900 block of South Hermitage Avenue when the situation turned physical, police said.

The younger woman stabbed the older woman in the abdomen and left arm, and the wounded woman was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where she was listed in serious condition, police said.

The 23-year-old woman was arrested at the scene. Police said the stabbing appears to be domestic related.

Detectives were investigating.
