Police say at least six people were injured in the same shooting incident in Greenpoint early Saturday morning, but all of the men involved survived.
Just before 2 a.m. Saturday, police said they were summoned to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center where three 18-year-old men had transported themselves, each with gunshot wounds from an incident under the BQE overpass near Stewart Avenue and Cherry Street.
One 18-year-old was shot in the face, another was shot in the chest and a third was shot in the left ankle, police said. The man shot in the chest is in critical but stable condition, according to a police spokesperson. The other two are listed as stable.
Police said a 33-year-old man also admitted himself to NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull with a gunshot wound to his right ankle. He’s also listed as stable.
And, police said, two 20-year-old men arrived early Saturday at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center nearby in Queens; one with a gunshot wound to the back and another with a gunshot wound to the leg. Both men are also in stable condition, police said.
Officials are still investigating how the shootings occurred and what sparked the gunfire, but an NYPD spokesperson said all the injuries appeared to be a part of the same incident and an investigation is ongoing.
