Chicago Ridge man arrested for armed robbery at Bridgeview jewelry stores

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. – A man was arrested Friday morning for robbing two Bridgeview jewelry stores.

Authorities said the robberies happened at the Jawahir Jewelry store on July 13, 2023, and the Jerusalem Jewelry store on Jan. 9, 2024, both located on South Harlem Avenue.

On Friday, officers with the Bridgeview Police Department, along with other authorities, executed multiple search warrants and arrest warrants in the 10600 block of Major Avenue in Chicago Ridge.

The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Emad Elayyan, was arrested at his home at around 10 a.m. Friday and taken to the Bridgeview Police Department for booking, according to investigators.

Elayyan has been charged with two counts of armed robbery with a firearm and has a bond hearing set for Saturday morning.
