Giants pass rusher Brian Burns questionable in Week 3 at Browns due to new groin injury, while Browns’ Myles Garrett is ready to go

US

Giants pass rusher Brian Burns unexpectedly popped up Friday as limited in practice and questionable for Sunday’s game in Cleveland due to a groin injury.

Cleveland Browns pass rusher Myles Garrett (foot), meanwhile, was upgraded to limited participation and has no injury designation, meaning he will definitely play for the Browns (1-1) against the Giants (0-2).

Cleveland tight end David Njoku (ankle) and running back Pierre Strong Jr. (hamstring) are out, and both starting offensive tackles Jack Conklin (knee) and Jedrick Wills Jr. (knee) are questionable.

Giants corner Nick McCloud (knee) will miss a second straight game. And inside linebacker Darius Muasau (knee, questionable) seems like he might, as well.

This is the second time in three weeks that Burns has been added to the injury report with a Friday injury. He played through an ankle injury in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings.

In other player availability news, Giants safety/linebacker Isaiah Simmons returned to the team after attending the funeral services for his late best friend, former Clemson wide receiver Diondre Overton, and practiced in full on Friday.

Edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux (shoulder), despite being limited in practice all week, does not have a game designation.

Starting right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor (neck, full participation) and defensive tackle Rakeem Nunez-Roches (abdomen) also popped up alongside Burns on Friday with new injuries but have no designations for the game, either.

The Giants and Browns are scheduled to kick off at Cleveland’s Huntington Bank Field at 1 p.m. ET Sunday. Then the Giants will turn around quickly to host the NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys on Thursday Night Football.
