Worcester police said a preliminary investigation shows a driver was traveling down South Ludlow Street when two pedestrians crossed the street. The vehicle hit both pedestrians, then hit another car, police said. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
After more than 90 pedestrian-involved crashes in 2024, the Worcester City Council voted to reduce the speed limit to 25 miles per hour citywide on Sept. 10. Worcester officials also declared a “Road Safety and Traffic Violence Crisis” in July following a crash that killed a 13-year-old girl.
