Woman shot while driving on Chicago's South Side: police

CHICAGO — A 26-year-old woman was shot while driving a vehicle on the city’s South Side.

The shooting happened around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday on the 7200 block of South Damen in the Englewood neighborhood.

Police said the woman told officers she was driving when someone inside a gray SUV, possibly a Dodge Durango, opened gunfire, striking the victim in the armpit and forearm.

The woman was transported to Insight Hospital in good condition.

No one is in custody. Area One Detectives are investigating.
