Cops hunt couple who stole, crashed subway train

US

It was a subway joyride that turned into a train wreck.

Police released photos Tuesday of a couple — including a woman all decked out in pink  — who snuck into an empty subway train in Queens and attempted to take it for a ride before they crashed into another parked train and then ran away.

The botched heist happened shortly after midnight Sept. 12, when a man and woman tried to commandeer an empty MTA train at Briarwood subway station, cops said.

Details about how the pair were able to start the parked train, and the extent of the damages from the collision, were not immediately available, police said.

Surveillance footage of the suspects showed a woman dressed in pink, including a pink “shower cap” and carrying a pink handbag, and a man wearing a blue tank top, red shorts and carrying a black backpack.

No one was injured in the subway snatch.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
