Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating an arson suspect responsible for a fire in downtown Los Angeles that injured four people, including two firefighters, late last week.
Personnel with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to reports of a fully involved fire at a three-story apartment complex under construction in the 700 block of New Depot Street just after 3:45 a.m. on Sept. 13.
The blaze, according to a press release from the Los Angeles Police Department, prompted mass evacuations of four other occupied multi-story residential apartment complexes exposed to the fire.
In the course of fighting the fire, two firefighters suffered minor injuries, officials said.
An elderly tenant in one of the buildings suffered from smoke inhalation and another female tenant sustained burn injuries to her hands and arms.
LAFD’s Arson/Counter-Terrorism Section is assisting LAPD in the investigation into the exact cause of the fire.
