Missing 12-year-old boy last seen on Far South Side

CHICAGO — A search is underway on Tuesday for a 12-year-old boy who police say went missing on Monday afternoon.

According to Chicago police, 12-year-old Lester Booker was last seen around 1:30 p.m., leaving the 9500 block of South Ashland Avenue in Beverly, on the city’s Far South Side.

Officers said the young boy, who was reported missing by his mother, is also known to go by the nickname “LJ.”

Police say Booker, who stands 5-foot-8 and weighs around 127 pounds, has brown eyes and black hair. He also has a mole on the left side of his nose.

According to Chicago police, 12-year-old Lester Booker was last seen around 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16, leaving the 9500 block of South Ashland Avenue in Beverly, on the city’s Far South Side.

Booker was last seen wearing a light red Nike sweatshirt with blue jeans and black bubble flip-flops.

Officers notified the public about the young boy’s disappearance in a news release sent out on Tuesday afternoon.
