With Dolphins starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffering another concussion on Thursday night, Miami head coach Mike McDaniel acknowledged that his team will likely “bring in someone” at QB with no timeline set for Tagovailoa’s return.

Of course, it didn’t take long for football fans to float Tom Brady as a potential candidate — given the 47-year-old former QB’s track record of coming back out of retirement, residency in the Miami area, and the Dolphins’ history of trying to woo Brady a few years ago.

But according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, don’t expect Brady to rip up his retirement papers for the second time.

“I know a lot of people suggested Tom Brady — bringing him out of retirement. That’s not gonna happen,” Schefter said on “Sunday NFL Countdown” ahead of the league’s Week 2 slate.

Brady has several ventures taking up his time these days, with the Patriots legend and future Hall of Famer currently serving as FOX’s lead color analyst on NFL broadcasts while also trying to purchase a 10 percent stake in the Las Vegas Raiders.

Brady called Sunday’s Cowboys-Saints game in Dallas, with the seven-time Super Bowl champion also taking time to shoutout his former team during FOX’s pregame show ahead of kick-off.

“I think Jerod has always shown himself to be a great leader,” Brady said of new Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo entering Week 2. “He was like a team captain from the time he walked into the door. He’s got great leadership.

“He’s got a lot of coaching that I like, too — that Patriots style of coaching: discipline, accountability. I think that’s still there.  … I’m excited to see how Jerod does the rest of the season. It’s tough to be a first-year coach. It’s tough to be a first-year broadcaster.”

Brady, who officially retired for the second time in 2022, did admit in April that was “not opposed” to an NFL comeback if the right situation did arise.

Of course, any potential NFL comeback would snuff out Brady’s lengthy efforts to own a significant share of the Raiders — as NFL players are not allowed to have an ownership stake in a franchise.

With Brady reportedly not looking to put together another comeback, the Dolphins will move forward with Skylar Thompson as their starting QB for now.
