Think it's been unusually hot and dry in Chicago? You're right

US

The Chicago area’s hot and dry September continues.

Sunday and Monday mark two 90 degree days in a row.

Overall, we are above normal on days above 90 degrees. And more impressive number is the days above 80 degrees.

And so far, our September is the second driest September on record.

We’re also in a Moderate level of drought for parts of Chicagoland.

Our next chance for rain doesn’t look like until summer is over with the Fall Equinox on Sunday. And even then only 20% of the area could see any raindrops at all, which leaves 80% still bone dry.
