Pet Cam Reveals Moment Owner Learned Dog Has ‘Zero Separation Anxiety’

US

Pet owners often go into worry mode the second they leave their fur babies home. They hope their pets don’t feel too lonely or get into any trouble, especially since many have grown used to having their owners with them 24/7 during the pandemic.

However, one owner discovered through a pet camera that there was no need to stress while being away. A TikTok video posted by @silly_ba_lily on August 20 showed the dog had no problem being home alone. There was no whining, crying or waiting at the door for her owner to return. She was too focused on entertaining herself.

This miniature goldendoodle was having a field day by herself. To her, it meant endless, uninterrupted playtime. The dog found her favorite toy, the owner’s orange scrunchie, and wouldn’t let it out of her site.

The pet camera filmed the dog tossing the scrunchie into the air and then running to catch it. Normally two people are needed for a game of fetch, but this dog managed it herself. And her wagging tail was proof she was having a blast.

The video’s caption reads: “It was at this moment I realized that she has zero separation anxiety or thats how she copes.”

Separation Anxiety in Dogs

This canine’s reaction to being home alone is a stark contrast to how other dogs handle the same situation. Newsweek previously reported that one goldendoodle did nothing but sit by the window, waiting patiently for her owner to return.

Some dogs might even develop separation anxiety, which is when they experience extreme stress from the time an owner leaves until they return. An article from Vetster reported that 13 to 28 percent of dogs have separation anxiety.

Signs of separation anxiety in dogs include: pacing, whining or trembling as you prepare to leave. Anxious dogs might bark or howl excessively, have accidents in the house, become destructive or attempt to escape.
