Man, 41, fatally shot inside CHA building on South Side

CHICAGO — A 41-year-old man was fatally shot inside a Chicago Housing Authority public housing building on the city’s South Side.

The shooting happened just after noon Thursday in the hallway of the Dearborn Homes on the 2900 block of South State Street.

Police said the man was in the hallway of the resident when an unknown person approached and began to fire shots in his direction.

The victim sustained gunshot wounds to his body and was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

No one is in custody. Detectives are investigating.
