WARRENVILLE, Ill. — A Warrenville man was charged after allegedly shooting his wife six times, killing her.

Last Thursday, Warrenville officers responded to the 30W0-100 block of Mulberry Court on the report of a death.

Police were met at the door by Steven Kramer, 39, and he told officers his wife was in a second floor bedroom.

His wife, Jamie Neumann, 47, was found dead in the bedroom after sustaining six gunshot wounds, including one to the head.

According to police, a verbal argument between the two turned physical and Kramer allegedly opened fire on her.

Kramer went to the police department with officers and was taken into custody a short time later.

He was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and was denied pre-trial release on Wednesday.

Kramer’s next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 7.

A GoFundMe has been raised to support the three daughters of Neumann.

The National Domestic Violence Hotline is 1-800-799-7233.
