A small plane carrying two people crashed in the northwestern suburbs Wednesday morning, according to fire officials.

The Roselle Fire Department received a call around 11 a.m. about an aircraft accident at Irving Park Road and Williams Street near the Schaumburg Regional Airport, a spokesperson said. The two people inside the plane were evaluated by Roselle paramedics and released.

The DuPage County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the crash, authorities said.

Irving Park Road is expected to remain closed between Roselle Road to Rodenburg Road for several hours due to the crash, according to Schaumburg officials.
