Taylor Swift endorses Kamala Harris after debate

Pop icon Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris for president late Tuesday after her debate with former President Trump.

“I am voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election,” said the multi-platinum-selling recording superstar.

Swift suggested that Harris’ confident demeanor in the debate inspired her to post the endorsement. She said she was speaking out to debunk fake reports that she might be backing Trump.

“(Harris) is a steady-handed and gifted leader,” Swift wrote to her 280 million followers. “I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”

“I’ve done my research and I’ve made my choice,” she added.

Swift praised Walz as a strong proponent of LGBTQ rights, a cause the singer says she deeply believes in.

Swift signed the post a “childless cat lady,” a pointed rebuke to GOP vice presidential nominee JD Vance who has said that parents should have a bigger voice than those who have no kids.

The singer, who commands the loyalty of millions, particularly young women, backed President Biden in 2020. But she had so far stayed quiet about whether she would endorse anyone this time around.
