Man dead after shooting in Greater Grand Crossing

CHICAGO – One person has died after a shooting Tuesday evening in the city’s Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood.

Chicago police said the shooting happened at around 6:30 p.m. in the 7100 block of South Yale Avenue.

The victim, described as a male of unknown age, was on the sidewalk when an unknown vehicle pulled up alongside him. That’s when a suspect got out of the vehicle and shot the victim in the head and throughout the body, according to investigators.

The victim was taken to St. Bernard Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made and Area One Detectives are investigating.
