Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl posted a personal message to Instagram on Tuesday morning.
The 55-year-old rocker admitted he welcomed a daughter outside of his marriage.
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” the statement wrote. “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her.”
The former Nirvana drummer then directed the statement to his wife, Jordyn Blum, and his three daughters.
“I love my wife and children, and I’m doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” he continued.
Grohl has been married to Blum since 2003. The couple has three daughters: Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10.
“We’re grateful for your consideration to all the children involved, as we move together,” he ended the note saying before signing off with a simple “David.”
The identity of the child’s mother has not been revealed and it’s not known how old the child is.
