Calumet City man charged in Glenwood liquor store homicide

Glenwood police said Wednesday a Calumet City man has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a 52-year-old liquor store employee.

Police said 27-year-old Antonio Diggines was scheduled for a detention hearing at the Markham courthouse.

Naveen Singh, of Chicago Heights, was shot and killed Monday at Emporium Liquors, 339 E. Glenwood Lansing Road, following an altercation, police said.

The shooting occurred at about 6:45 p.m. and Singh was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
