AFD: No injuries reported in north Austin vehicle fire on MoPac

AUSTIN (KXAN) — No injuries were reported after a truck caught fire in north Austin Tuesday morning, causing some traffic delays on the northbound side of the MoPac Expressway.

The Austin Fire Department responded just after 5 a.m. to the vehicle fire, which happened on North MoPac just north of the Scofield Ridge exit.

AFD said two fire units responded to the vehicle fire, which is the standard response.

No one was in the vehicle, according to AFD.

Austin police also responded to help with traffic control. The far right and middle lanes were shut down for some time Tuesday morning while first responders cleared the scene.

The scene cleared shortly after 6 a.m.
