HAYS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Drivers may notice more law enforcement on US 290 in Hays County starting Sunday.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office and Precinct 4 Constable’s Office are increasing patrols on a section of US 290 in efforts to curb excessive speed and stop light violations.

The added patrols start Sunday and last through Sept. 19, the sheriff’s office said.

The efforts will focus on the stretch of US 290 between Nutty Brown Road and Sawyer Ranch Road. This is near the Belterra area.

The sheriff’s office added similar patrols on US 290 in Dripping Springs last year.
