Lyela Sayarath, a student at Apalachee High School, recounts the chilling moment the gunmen tried to enter her classroom before shots rang out in a mass shooting that left four dead and at least nine injured on Sept. 4.

The shooter — identified as Colt Gray, a student at the school — had left the room at the beginning of the period and tried to get back in the locked classroom, according to Sayarath. As the shots rang out “we’re all crawling on the floor, pushing desks.”

Authorities have identified the four killed as teens Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo along with math teachers Richard Aspinwall, 39, and Christina Irimie, 53.
