The Weeknd reveals new album name

The Weeknd has revealed the album title of the third installment to his latest trilogy.

In a post to Instagram on Wednesday morning, the Canadian singer/ songwriter revealed the name of the project and some details.

“Yesterday was fourteen years ago… we held our breath falling into a shimmering sea in the after hours of the night. Attempted to cleanse the wounds with melodies and lights, a bulletproof bandage to shield what lies beneath,” the text on the video reads. “In a place where the seasons never changed, where time ceased to exist. But therein lays the problem. Today has felt like an endless spin. I keep distorting the truth, immune to dizziness, numb to the nausea. What lies beneath-screams in silence. I look in the mirror and feel both old and new, stuck in limbo and unable to move. I still haven’t faced myself.”

The elusive message continues with The Weeknd, born Abel Tesfaye, saying that “more songs could help.” He then asks “What do I have left to say? Woe is me in my gilded cage, right?”

The “Blinding Lights” singer then explained that “the very thing” that made him “invincible” failed him on “the world stage.”

He then explained that “trauma surfaced opening the floodgates.”

The statement appears to be an allusion to when the singer lost his voice at his 2022 show at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

“A new path awaits. When today ends, I’ll discover who I am,” he continued.

“Hurry Up Tomorrow,” in large font takes over the screen, which is the name of the four-time Grammy award winner explained.

The album is the follow-up album to 2022’s “Dawn FM.” No release date has been revealed.

The announcement comes just days before The Weeknd hits the stage in Brazil for his special show at Estádio Morumbi in São Paulo, Brazil. It will also be live-streamed on YouTube.

The show is a continuation of his After Hours Til Dawn tour, which has been underway for two years. He’ll wrap it up in Australia in October.
