Evergreen Park

EMPLOYEE BATTERED: Kenneth W. Harris, 61, 5000 block of Mint Julip Drive, Alsip, was arrested and accused of battery Aug. 27 after punching an employee who tried to prevent him from leaving Walgreens, 8700 Kedzie Ave., police said.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: Police say four men used a sledge hammer to break into the BP gas station, 9802 Kedzie Ave., early Aug. 29, and stole $1,200 cash before fleeing in a stolen vehicle.

Mokena

DOMESTIC: Dennis P. Brown, 42, 19000 block of Leila Drive, Mokena, was charged with aggravated domestic battery and accused of aggravated battery to a police officer in connection with an Aug. 22 call to that block, according to police and Will County records online. Brown must remain incarcerated until his Sept. 19 preliminary hearing, court records show.

ARMED ROBBERY: Juan A. Serrano III, 19, 8100 block of 99th Street, Palos Hills, is scheduled to appear at a preliminary hearing Sept. 19, charged with armed robbery and aggravated robbery, according to Will County court records online. Serrano posed as a Joliet resident to meet with a Mokena teen who was selling jewelry via Facebook Marketplace July 22, displayed a toy handgun painted to look real and took the jewelry without paying the agreed upon $1,400, police said. Serrano was arrested  Aug. 23 in the 8100 block of 99th Street, police said.

New Lenox

VIDEO VOYEURISM: Javier B. Jimenez, 46, 200 block of South Joliet Street, Joliet, was arrested Aug. 23 after surreptitiously video recording a teen in a department store changing room in the 400 block of East Lincoln Highway, police said. Jimenez, who also goes by Jimenez-Bernal, is scheduled to appear at a Sept. 19 preliminary hearing, charged with video under clothes/sex offense, according to Will County court records online.

ELDER ABUSE: Melinda L. Britts, 35, 1000 block of Shagbark Road, New Lenox, was arrested Saturday and subsequently charged with aggravated battery/victim 60 or older, according to the Will County sheriff’s and court records online.

Oak Lawn

BATTERY: Johntrell D. Foster, 30, undisclosed block of 101st Street, Oak Lawn, was arrested Aug. 25 and accused of battery after pushing an elderly patron while causing a commotion in a restaurant in the 9200 block of Cicero Avenue, police said. Foster was taken into custody inside a nearby gas station where he was pouring milk on his face in response to being pepper-sprayed by a diner, police said.

ARMED ROBBERY: Five gun-wielding masked males forcefully entered a 7-Eleven, 4501 95th St., at 7 a.m. Aug. 30, ordered customers and the cashier to the ground and took items from them and the store before leaving in a stolen vehicle, police said.

Orland Park

FACE SPITTING: An Orland Park man wanted on five village bond-forfeiture warrants led officers on a half-mile foot chase and then spit in an officer’s face after he was apprehended, police said. Collin McEnery, 31, 13900 block of John Humphrey Drive, was charged with aggravated battery to a police officer and also accused of a hate crime, resisting arrest and fleeing/eluding, police said.

PUBLIC INDECENCY: Bey Raheem, 25, 9700 block of Ravinia Court, Orland Park, was arrested Aug. 14 at Orland Square mall and accused of public indecency after exposing himself to an employee at a clothing store, police said.

ILLEGAL GUN: William T. Warford Jr., 20, 17600 block of Mulberry Avenue, Country Club Hills, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after officers recovered a loaded .40 caliber handgun with a mounted laser sight during an Aug. 25 search of his vehicle in the first block of Orland Square Drive, police said. Illinois’ required gun permits are attainable only by those who are at least 21.

Park Forest

COMBATIVE DUI: A Matteson woman wanted by Cook County sheriff’s police for aggravated battery/using a deadly weapon resisted officer’s efforts to place her inside the squad and later had to be carried out of the vehicle, police said. Aja J. Young, 31, 4700 block of 203rd Street, Matteson, was arrested Aug. 9 at Sauk Trail and Minocqua Street and additionally accused of drunken driving and resisting arrest, police said.

BATTERY: A Park Forest man accused of breaking a car window in the Plaza West shopping center Aug. 13 knocked a responding officer to the ground and then punched him in the face, police said. A second officer tased and subdued Daniel C. Cantave, 32, first block of Woodland Glen, police said.

GUN THREAT: An Eagan, Minnesota man was arrested Aug. 14 in a Cedarwood Cooperative parking lot for aggravated assault/using a deadly weapon after the victim/complainant provided a cellphone video that showed Antione D. Fields, 38, moving a bullet into firing position on a 9 mm handgun while threatening to shoot the man, police said.

RESIDENTIAL BREAK-IN: Kiera J. Mitchell, 33, Chicago, and Cassius R. Hope, 33, Chicago, were arrested Aug. 16 and subsequently charged with felony trespassing to a residence after Mitchell kicked in the locked door of a home in the 100 block of Lester Road and both entered, police said. Hope was also accused of resisting arrest after assuming a fighting stance when officers blocked his attempt to leave, police said.
