CPD aims to identify thieves behind multiple North Side burglaries

CHICAGO — Chicago police are working to identify thieves captured on surveillance video after several businesses were burglarized Sunday morning on the city’s North Side. 

According to police, seven burglaries occurred on the morning of Sept. 1 in Rogers Park. In each incident, police said the suspects entered the business by damaging a front window. Once inside, the group, which police suspect is three to four males, removed cash from the register and nearby tip jars.

Police added that the group escaped in a silver or black Kia Soul.

Chicago police released a surveillance video on Tuesday showing one theft in the early morning hours at a business at Jarvis and Greenview in Rogers Park.    

All locations, dates, and times of incidents include:

  • 2200 block of North Clark Street on Sept. 1 between midnight – 8 a.m. (Lincoln Park)
  • 2400 block of North Lincoln Avenue on Sept. 1 between 2 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. (Lincoln Park)
  • 1500 block of West Montrose on Sept. 1 at 2:56 a.m. (Uptown)
  • 2000 block of North Lincoln Park West on Sept. 1 at 3:25 a.m. (Lincoln Park)
  • 1500 block of West Jarvis Avenue on Sept. 1 at 4 a.m. (Rogers Park)
  • 4700 block of North Damen Avenue on Sept. 1 at 4:31 a.m. (Lincoln Square)
  • 4700 block of North Damen Avenue on Sept. 1 at 4:38 a.m. (Lincoln Square)
