Target gears up for car seat trade-in event

US

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Target’s semi-annual car seat trade-in event returns in September, incentivizing parents who trade in their old car seats with a 20% discount toward a new car seat or other baby-related item.

Parents can also use the discount, called a “Target Circle Bonus,” to buy select baby home gear including playards, high chairs, swings, rockers, bouncers, walkers, entertainers and jumpers.

According to Target, the stores will be set up to accept and recycle all types of car seats, including: infant car seats, convertible car seats, car seat bases, harness or booster car seats, as well as car seats that are expired or damaged.

The event is scheduled Sept. 15-28.

The 20% bonus can be applied to both in-store and online purchases and is valid Sept. 15 through Oct. 12. Target says, the bonus can be combined with other item offers.

Shoppers can receive the bonus by using their mobile device to scan signs set up near the drop-off point. There is one bonus per Target Circle account, and it can be used twice before it expires.

Target says it has recycled over 3 million car seats since it launched the program in April 2016.
