A man was stabbed and critically wounded during a fight Monday afternoon on a CTA Red Line train in Uptown on the North Side.

Around 1:15 p.m., the man, 37, was arguing with someone on the train in the 900 block of West Wilson Avenue when the argument turned physical and the man was stabbed multiple times in the body, Chicago police said.

The man fled the train and went to the 4700 block of North Broadway before he was taken to the Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said. He was reportedly in critical condition.

No one was in custody.

Hours before the stabbing, four people were fatally shot as they slept on a CTA Blue Line train in Forest Park.
