Elton John is currently recovering from an eye infection he was diagnosed with over the summer.
On Tuesday, the iconic singer and entertainer provided a health update to fans.
“Over the summer, I’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye,” he wrote in a statement to Instagram. “I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye.”
John thanked the “excellent team of doctors and nurses” and well as his family for taking care of him over the “past several weeks.”
The “Bennie And The Jets” singer says he’s been “quietly spending the summer recuperating at home.”
“(I) am feeling positive about the progress I have made in my healing and recovering thus far,” he ended his note saying.
Some of John’s famous friends offered their well-wishes in the post’s comment section.
“Sending you so much love Elton! Feel better soon. Love you,” wrote Donatella Versace.
Tennis legend Billie Jean King wrote, “Sending our love and support your way. Feel better soon, friend.”
