Summertime and the listenin’ is easy.

On Sept. 9, WNYC is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a live broadcast from City Parks Foundation SummerStage in Central Park. It will take place at Rumsey Playfield, the outdoor concert and performance venue near East 71st Street.

The fest kicks off at 7 p.m. and will feature conversations, music, trivia and more public-radio fun, all emceed by longtime station host Brian Lehrer.

Brian Lehrer will emcee the WNYC centennial event at Central Park on Sept. 9.

The lineup boasts a bevy of other voices WNYC listeners are likely to know, including Alison Stewart from “All of It,” Brooke Gladstone and Micah Loewinger from “On The Media,” and Sean Carlson from “All Things Considered.”

In addition to gripping narratives from The Moth, the program includes performances by improv hip-hop comedy group Freestyle Love Supreme, rock band Nada Surf, and New York City art and music legend Laurie Anderson, with Sexmob.

Also slated to participate are Ira Glass, host of “This American Life,” and John Schaefer, host of “New Sounds.”
