New York State should help DAs fight wage theft

When Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg successfully prosecuted Grimaldi’s pizzeria for wage theft this year, the case made headlines nationwide. The storied New York landmark was home to sordid exploitation, as low-wage immigrant workers sent repeat text messages pleading only for the wages they’d earned: “I need money please,” “Can you pay me today please,” “I sure need money to pay my rent please.”
