The Mets won’t have J.D. Martinez against the Red Sox on Monday night, as the team announced he was placed on the paternity list.

He was replaced on the roster by DJ Stewart, who was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse.

The lefty-swinging Stewart had a .907 OPS in 23 games with Syracuse after being optioned to Syracuse on July 28.

There had been some thought he could be brought up when rosters expanded on Sunday, but the team went with infielder Pablo Reyes.
