Dead man found during welfare check in Los Angeles County, suspect arrested

Authorities in the High Desert have taken a suspect into custody after they found a man dead during a welfare check. 

Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Palmdale station responded to the 37400 block of Oxford Drive in Palmdale around 10:35 a.m. Saturday to conduct a welfare check, the department said in a statement

Upon arriving, deputies made entry into the residence and discovered the deceased victim.  He was only identified as a Hispanic man. 

During a “tactical operation” at the same residence, another man was located and arrested, LASD said. 

No further details, including the identity of the man who was arrested, were released.
