He claims he lost his sting ever since he got stung.
A Las Vegas hotel guest is suing after a scorpion found its way into his bed and stung him on his testicles — allegedly leaving him with trauma, PTSD and a frustrated wife who says their sex life just hasn’t been the same.
Agora Hills, California resident Michael Farchi, 62, was staying at The Venetian just after Christmas last year when the scoprion allegedly crawled into his bed and jammed its stinger into his privates — a feeling he reportedly likened to someone stabbing him with “sharp glass or a knife.”
Now, he’s looking to hit Sin City resort where it would hurt them the most: The wallet.
Farchi sued the hotel last week claiming the scorpion incident has left him with PTSD, emotional trauma and a sex life that’s in a pinch, according to 8 News Now in Las Vegas.
“I can also indicate, as you saw in the complaint, we’re also making a claim for loss of consortium for Mr. Farchi’s wife,” said attorney Brian Virag, which means Farchi’s wife is claiming their sex life took a turn for the worse.
Beyond that, the hotel “owed a duty of care to Plaintiffs to provide a clean, safe, and sanitary room . . . that was free of vermin, bed bugs, or similar things, including scorpions,” the attorney wrote in the Aug. 27 lawsuit.
Farchi also said the luxury resort and casino was already aware of an “infestation of poisonous, deadly scorpions,” according to the suit.
“From our understanding, there was some ongoing construction at the time that this incident happened — just before the incident happened and the time the incident happened,” Virag said.
Farchi is looking for a jury trial to decide whether the hotel should compensate him for damages, pain, suffering, mental distress and loss of enjoyment of life, among other things.
Farchi’s woes began Dec. 26, when he allegedly woke up to excruciating pain in his groin.
“I just felt like somebody stabbing me in my private area,” Farchi told 8 News Now. “It felt like a sharp glass or a knife.”
He went to the bathroom to check it out — and that’s when he found a scorpion “hanging on my underwear.”
Farchi shared photos with the station of the scorpion on his clothing, and a medical incident report he filed at the Palazzo that showed his suite number and a brief description he wrote to hotel staff that said he was “bitten by scorpion on my groin/testicles.”
But the staff didn’t take him seriously and, in fact, mocked him for it.
“(They were) just holding their groin area and laughing about it,” he said. “It was really embarrassing.”
The Venetian did not respond to a request for comment Sunday.
Farchi was treated at Summerlin Hospital and UCLA Medical Center — where doctors confirmed his physical injuries and noted he was suffering from erectile dysfunction after the sting, the station said.
“Many effects on my family, my work, everything,” Farchi said in an interview.
He and his family left the hotel a day earlier than they’d planned, and the Venetian compensated him for the room.
“It really doesn’t matter, so much, how it got there,” Virag, the attorney, said. “The fact that it was there, and they were on notice that there were prior issues of scorpions at the subject property, that’s obviously the main point here.”
