Woman fatally shot on porch in West Pullman, concealed carry holder returns fire at attacker – Chicago Tribune

A 49-year-old woman was fatally shot while sitting on the porch of a residence in West Pullman at approximately 9:33 p.m. Friday night, Chicago police said.

A man with a concealed carry license who was on the porch with the victim then returned gunfire at the attacker, who fled the scene in a dark colored SUV.

Sustaining gunshot wounds to the face and arm, the woman was transported in critical condition from the 11800 block of S. Indiana Avenue to Roseland Community Hospital. There, she was pronounced dead, police said.

Officers found a handgun, but no one has been taken into custody.

Detectives are investigating the incident.
