Police investigating deadly hit-and-run crash in south Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department is investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash that happened Tuesday in south Austin.

Police said the crash happened around 1 a.m. on the East Ben White Boulevard service road, just west of Interstate 35.

Police said the vehicle did not stop after hitting a pedestrian.

The pedestrian died at the scene. Police did not name the victim.

Police are investigating the crash as the 58th fatal crash in Austin this year.
