Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes says Taylor Swift is so interested in football now that she’s dating tight end Travis Kelce that she’s even “drawing up plays.”

Mahomes talked about the pop superstar’s influence on the team and football more widely while speaking with Chris Simms for an “NFL on NBC” interview that aired on Thursday.

Mahomes, 28, said the “Love Story” singer, 34, is sincerely “interested” in football. She attended her first Chiefs game on Sept. 24, 2023, as her new romance with Kelce was starting to become public.

“Meeting Taylor, realizing how genuine and cool she is… that’s been special to me, because like you said [she’s] the most famous person in the world,” Mahomes said.

“She’s really interested in football, she asks a lot of great questions. She’s already drawing up plays so we might have to put one in,” he said.

Asked whether interest in the Chiefs “went up to another level” once Swift became publicly interested, Mahomes praised her for bringing more girls and women to the sport.

“I think it’s been cool to see the girls and the women that have really embraced watching football,” Mahomes said. “I know being a girl dad how cool it is for me… to see these little girls, these daughters and how much they’re loving spending time with their dad watching football.”

Mahomes shares daughter Sterling Skye, 3, and son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, 21 months, with wife Brittany Mahomes, 28, who is currently pregnant with their third child, another girl. The high school sweethearts married in 2022.
